Since the end of October, I have been meeting with four other artists every two weeks for an interdisciplinary exchange over lunch, due to the current situation remotely or in a video conference. However, we hope that next year we will be able to open this round of exchange to other interested parties and that small performances and exhibitions of "work in progress" will also take place within this framework.
The other four artists are: Anicia Kohler (musician, writer), Isabel Jakob (visual artist), Sarah Hinni (visual artist, photographer) and Joana Hermes, student of contemporary dance at ZHdK (intern with me). We talk about what's on our minds at the moment, show each other what we've been working on, and ask each other lots of questions.
The exchange and reflection that happens about our own work is so exciting for me because we five women work and tick so differently. I am always surprised how different the disciplines, our approaches, motivations within art can be. I find that getting to know each other's creative processes opens up a lot of horizons. By the way, we know each other through the Effinger Coffee Bar & Coworking Space. There you can also find Anicia's just published blog about our project.
We regularly write about our exchanges in the blog on the recently created website www.kunstimcoworking.ch.
